November 2015 Income Report

Last month I made $387.89 throughout the entirety of the TechJohnson brand. Creating YouTube videos, blog articles, live streams, and doing social media marketing has allowed me to earn a bit of side revenue to help offset a few bills. Currently, the TechJohnson brand is not my full-time job, but it is my hopes and dreams to work hard to one day fulfill that goal.

In the beginning of the year, I wrote an article entitled 2015: Transparency & Expansion. Inside that article, which I encourage everyone to read, I talked about wanting to step out of my comfort zone and talk about my online earnings and analytics with the TechJohnson brand. I have been skeptical to do so, but here I am, stepping out of my comfort zone.

This is a series of reports that I will post each and every month summarizing my progress with the TechJohnson brand. By doing this series, I hope to inspire someone to begin their online journey and document their experience, growth and possible revenue earnings.

BEFORE YOU READ

After discussing the income reports over with a few close friends and peers, I have decided that after this month, I will no longer be publishing an income report. At this time, it’s not something I should be focusing on, even if it’s bringing in some immediate views.

Come the new year, I’m going to be launching a new project and that’s going to take up the majority of my time. I want to focus my energy to building relationships with my audience, as well as building the audience as a whole. Even though earning a revenue through the TechJohnson brand is awesome, it isn’t something I should be focusing on. Let’s face it, I don’t make enough to begin with, so why share where the brands money is coming from.

Creating quality content is going to my primary focus for 2016. More to come on January 1st!

IMPORTANT HAPPENINGS IN NOVEMBER

PATREON

Patreon Campaign

In last month’s income report, I discussed all the different crowdfunding options for my online brand. After a lot of thought and preparation, I decided to move forward with Patreon and officially launch!

Become a Patreon and receive some awesome perks!

As a content creator who is continually publishing content, I felt this was the best option for my brand. Continual free content, continual support. It just made sense! While becoming a Patron isn’t necessary, it’s certainly appreciated!

BUSINESS LESSON LEARNED IN NOVEMBER

For the last several months, I have been stressed out of my mind. With my son’s birthday and Christmas approaching, I knew money would be tight. It always is this time of year. The only way I can provide an awesome holiday season and epic birthday is by having enough money, not only to buy some awesome gifts, but enough to pay the bills to keep the roof over our heads, as well as taxes. I don’t get to keep every cent I make.

This time of year puts a lot of stress on myself, as well as my family. I’m continually taking on new clients, pushing out content, and always looking for local side jobs. There is never a thing as too much money, but at what cost does it become detrimental to my health and family life?

Halfway through the month, I started to realize the stress I was putting on my family. I was continually working, whether I was home on the computer or out with clients/side jobs, it was work work work work work…you get the idea.

Struggling the balance between work and my personal life, I knew I had to take a step back and do what was right. Nothing in life makes me happier than seeing my son smile. If I had to sacrifice some of my own personal benefit with money to make him happy, I’m all for it.

I decided to drop a few clients, reject a few side gigs and slow down on my creation. Working myself thin, to the point of upsetting my personal life, was something I would not stand for.

Point in case, never work yourself thin. Not only does it put a toll on your health, but it really affects your loved ones.

With that said, it may return in the future. No promises! :)
