July 2015 Income Report

Welcome to July’s Monthly Income Report

Last month I made $292.94 throughout the entirety of the TechJohnson brand. Creating YouTube videos, blog articles, live streams, and doing social media marketing has allowed me to earn a bit of side revenue to help offset a few bills. Currently, the TechJohnson brand is not my full-time job, but it is my hopes and dreams to work hard to one day fulfill that goal.

In the beginning of the year, I wrote an article entitled 2015: Transparency & Expansion. Inside that article, which I encourage everyone to read, I talked about wanting to step out of my comfort zone and talk about my online earnings and analytics with the TechJohnson brand. I have been skeptical to do so, but here I am, stepping out of my comfort zone.

This is the first of a series of reports that I will post each and every month summarizing my progress with the TechJohnson brand. By doing this series, I hope to inspire someone to begin their online journey and document their experience, growth and possible revenue earnings.

IMPORTANT HAPPENINGS IN JULY

Family Vacation

From July 1st to July 5th, my family went on vacation to the beautiful ‘Green Mountain’ state of Vermont. As a family of a 3 and a half year old toddler, we have never been on vacation together. We thought it was time to get away as a family, get away from the stress and anxiety of our daily lives, JUST GET AWAY.

Relaunched the TechJohnson Newsletter

About a year ago (give or take), I decided to open up my own newsletter for my amazing community. My thinking behind the newsletter was simple; what if YouTube decides to close their doors tomorrow? Where would my community go? How would they be able to see what I’m up to? Things like that. I couldn’t keep ‘all my eggs in one basket’, I needed a home for my community. Since releasing that community, I decided to leave it dormant and eventually close my newsletter accounts.

I decided to relaunch my newsletter. In my newsletter, I’ll be giving you exclusive updates, giving you the opportunity to help me make business decisions revolved around TechJohnson, as well as many other awesome things. I would highly encourage EVERYONE to sign up for my free newsletter. Sign up here!

Started a new project

I started brainstorming a new project that I’m very passionate about. Obviously, this is still in the beginning stages, so I don’t want to reveal anything until it’s ready. This may take one month, eight months, 2 years. Just hang tight, it’s going to be dope.

Started doing more Twitch Livestreams

Ever since I could remember, I’ve always been a gamer. I love gaming, whether that be shooting games, racing games, or sandbox games, I just love to game. It’s a way for me to relax and unwind after a long day of work. With that said, I started to see potential in a popular website called Twitch. It’s a place people hang out and watch live streamers play their video games and interact. I decided to really go all in and give it a shot. After all, engagement is something I strive for and if I can game and engage at the same time, I’m all for it. Make sure you follow me on Twitch!

BUSINESS LESSONS LEARNED IN JULY

After getting back from Vermont (don’t forget to watch our experience!) and being in complete heaven, I knew it was going to be difficult to get back into the grove of owning an online brand. To be honest, I thought it was going to be more difficult to disconnect from my community. Boy was I wrong!

When I was finally home from vacation, all I wanted to do was lay around and be lazy. How can I expect to get ahead if I’m not doing a thing to actually get ahead.

Simply put, I learned that being lazy isn’t going to help you achieve your goals. I know it’s a basic concept, but there are so many people that say they aren’t lazy and when you dive deep, they are spending time watching TV instead of working on their business or brand. Laziness is engraved into the human anatomy, but how you overcome it is what matters most.

Every morning after my shower and coffee, I went outside and took a 15 minute walk listening to classical music. Of course, you can listen to your genera of choice, but getting up and about will give you the motivation and energy needed to get your work done. I’ll come back in from a nice walk and I’ll be extremely motivated. The majority of the time, I’ll accomplish my daily tasks quicker than I thought, thus allowing me more time with my family. That’s what matters most to me.

What’s something you do that helps you become more productive and conquer your goals, rather than sitting around being lazy?
